3 Notable PRO Bowl Snubs
Dec 29, 2011 | Comments 0
- QB Andy Dalton
- TE Aaron Hernandez
- LB London Fletcher
While Philip Rivers was named the 3rd QB for the AFC, many felt it should have been Cincinnati Bengals’ QB, Andy Dalton. Andy Dalton, a rookie, has led his team to a 9-6 record and has 3,199 passing yards on the season. He also has 20 touchdowns and just 13 interceptions, while Rivers leads the league with 19 interceptions.
Hernandez has 72 receptions for 772 yards, which is about 100 more than the Pro Bowl chosen Antonio Gates. You also have to take into account the fact that Rob Gronkowski has out-shined Hernandez this season, partly because Hernandez got injured and that gave way for Gronkowski. Either way, both of those TE’s from the Patriots deserved a bid.
The most shocking snub, once again, comes from the league continuing to ignore the greatness that is London Fletcher. This guy repeatedly gets snubbed by the Pro Bowl despite leading the league in tackles with 163. He has made the Pro Bowl as an alternate the past two seasons and announced he was selected to do the same this year.
